We've curated our People Art Paintings here—a style best described as modern figurative art. Unlike purely abstract art, which represents a complete break from real forms, this style retains recognizable elements of objects through emotional, whimsical interpretations. Its closest parallels and earliest examples trace back to Surrealism from the 1920s, and the term "figurative art" gained new meaning with the rise of abstract art. Modern figurative art employs fresh symbols and idioms, shifting away from realism toward abstraction.
